 Randy Adams Memorial Arena:

A Legacy of Dreams and Determination

Let me tell you all a little story about this arena!

A young man named Randy Adams dreamed of being a cowboy. At the age of 12, his dad, Joe Adams, built him a bucking barrel out of a 55-gallon barrel and four light poles. From there on, the sky was the limit.

Randy started riding in a little britches rodeo where he rode bare-backs and saddle-broncs. He did that until he graduated from high school. He was the first person to receive a four-year scholarship from the University of Nebraska Rodeo Team.

Randy was killed in an automobile accident on November 3, 1979, at the young age of 19. His time was tragically short. With the help of the community and fellow cowboys, this arena was built in his memory. The Randy Adams Little Britches Rodeo (RALBR) was held at this arena for 15 years, creating a lasting tribute to his passion and determination.

Thanks to the Hallam Fire Department, the arena came back to life after 24 years, hosting the 1st Annual Extreme Bull Riding Tour in 2021. Today, this arena not only inspires generations of cowboys and cowgirls to follow their dreams, but the event also raises funds for the HVFD, supporting life-saving equipment and training for the rural community.

Randy’s dream has grown into a lasting legacy—one that touches lives, strengthens the community, and reminds everyone that passion, dedication, and heart can truly leave a mark for generations to come.
